Glossary
Signal
A network for verified human progress.
It connects self-experimenters, researchers, and supporters to turn individual results into collective knowledge.
Protocol
A structured experiment designed by a Pioneer and followed by Champions.
It defines what to test, how to measure it, and what success looks like.
Each verified completion strengthens the evidence base for that protocol.
Champion
A participant who runs a live protocol, logs data, and submits results for verification.
Champions earn Proof-of-Progress and $SGNL rewards for verified outcomes.
They are the foundation of the network.
Pioneer
A researcher or practitioner who designs and publishes protocols.
When their protocols produce consistent, verified results, Pioneers gain credibility and token rewards.
They help guide what the network explores next.
Patron
A sponsor or supporter who funds new protocols, backs promising research directions, or supports Champions directly.
Their contributions fuel experimentation and innovation within the network.
Oracle
Signal’s advanced verification layer — a mix of AI, algorithms, and cryptographic logic.
It checks the authenticity of data, validates timestamps, and prevents tampering.
The Oracle is what keeps proof honest.
Proof-of-Progress (PoP)
A permanent, verifiable record that a protocol was completed and the data confirmed.
It represents one unit of truth inside Signal.
Each PoP links the Champion, the protocol, and the verified results.
$SGNL Token
The coordination and reward layer of the network.
$SGNL is earned through verified contribution and used for governance, protocol funding, and reputation.
Its value reflects trust in the system, not speculation.
DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization)
The governance structure that manages Signal’s evolution.
It approves protocols, oversees the treasury, and ensures accountability.
Reputation and verified contribution determine influence.
Data Graph
The living map of verified outcomes created by the network.
Every Proof-of-Progress adds a new point to this graph, revealing what works, what doesn’t, and for whom.
It grows with each verified experiment.
Verification
The process of confirming that data is authentic and complete.
Verification combines Oracle validation, timestamping, and peer review before minting a PoP.
Research Economy
The self-sustaining cycle inside Signal where verified results generate rewards and fund new experiments.
It ensures that every contribution adds both scientific and economic value.
Protocol NFT
A digital record that represents a live experiment framework.
It allows protocols to be tracked, verified, and rewarded transparently.
Champion Record
A private log of all verified activities by a Champion.
It shows their completed protocols, PoPs earned, and contribution history.
Reputation
The measure of trust earned through verified participation.
It influences DAO voting rights, protocol access, and community standing.
Progress
The outcome of effort validated by truth.
In Signal, progress is not a goal — it’s a measurable state that can be proven, shared, and built upon.
